Nothing Says ‘I Love You’ Like…Bonus Post for Valentine’s Day!

Stay tuned for this week’s Valentine’s day episode…chocolate covered frozen bananas. To whet your pallet and give you some (less naughty looking) pretty food ideas, see the list below.

Nothing says “I love you” like whole foods alternatives to sugary-hallmarky-junk-food. Though food-color-dyed raspberry-sugar-cream filling DOES sound heavenly, my body isn’t a happy camper after eating it.

Here are 5 ideas for how to have a colorful Valentine’s days without the sugar load:

1. Beet and blood orange salad, guest starring everyone’s favorite super food: kale! (pictured below)

2. Rose hibiscus Kombucha (pictured below)

3. Pomegranate yoghurt bowl

4. Rouge Champagne

5. Chocolate covered strawberries (duh-sies)

Stay tuned for this week’s Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas episode. I held back from making a third of the jokes that you’d expect—such restraint!

  1. I strongly desire to mix the champagne and the kombucha. I am fairly certain that would be a disaster, but…you never know until you try…

  2. i don’t think it’d be a disaster at all. try it and let me know! in france they sometimes mix red wine and sparkling lemonade to make a cocktail.
you could also mix the champagne with blood orange or cara cara orange juice for a valentiney mimosa.
